Business is booming.

What Are the Different Machinery Needed For Garment Business?

All over the world, there is a certain textile production and that has been an integral part of our human civilization ever since man learned that clothing is going to be a basic part of any society. Therefore, clothing and textiles were a part of the history, and everywhere certain materials and also certain technology were available to the people.

The birth of textile manufacturing took place when the Industrial Revolution started in America and that spread all over the world during the 18th and 19th centuries.

This had triggered an economy that had caused people to move in a significant number from their rural homes to urban areas to leave agricultural jobs and join in manufacturing plants.

If you want to get into the business of the textile industry then instead of looking for any textile machinery supplier you must enter into the ready-made garment business. The following machinery will then be needed to do this business.

  • Product designing/pattern making

To design a pattern, you must have a suitable CAD (computer-aided design) and a few other components meant for your CAD systems that should be able to do the following:

  • Marker planning
  • Pattern grading
  • Pattern digitization
  • Nesting

You also need a plotter machine and suitable CAD software.

  • Fabric testing and inspection of fabric

Lots of effort will go into selecting the right kind of fabric for making your garment. This is the basic raw material for your product and about 60 to 70 percent cost of the garment will be needed on fabric. Therefore, you need the right type of testing equipment to know the quality of fabric that you buy.

  • Fabric spreading machines

If you are going for small-scale manufacturing of garments then any manual spreading is good enough. However, to go for a large scale you need to think of productivity. To reduce your manpower you may look for automatic spreading machines.

  • Cutting room machines

Many different types of cutting machines that you can find for fabric cutting. You may either use any straight knife cutting machine or use any round knife cutting machine rather than any straight knife cutting machine.

  • Cutting table

You will need a long and wide table based on the length of the marker and also the maximum fabric width that you will use.

  • Sewing machines

This is another important machine that is the basic heart of your garment manufacturing factory. There are many different varieties of sewing machines available to make garment products. Depending upon what scale you are producing garments, you have to select your sewing machine.

  • Finishing machines

Finishing machines will be required for the following activities:

  • Garment checking
  • Repairing defective garment
  • Removing stain
  • Mending
  • Thread cutting
  • Removing of thread
  • Garment pressing and folding.
  • Garment packing

Usually, packing is done manually however you may need a tag machine to tag different garments.

However, you may not need all the above-listed machines to do your business. Your selection of machines will depend on your product construction and its styling.
